\occurrence - a group of images taken within a small region of space and time.

\name - the group of annotations belonging to an individual

\mastername - a name belonging to the master database

\encounter - a name identified in an \occurrence, it has not yet been merged into the master database.

\annotation - a detected region of interest around an animal in an image.

\unknownannotation - an unnamed \annotation or an \annotation without a name.

\exemplar - an \annotation beloning to a \name
